The 7th Gloucester Boys’ Brigade was originally formed in 1977 and was based at Matson Baptist church until it closed in 2006.
In October 2009 Christchurch Abbeydale wanted to start a Boys’ Brigade company with
a Girls Association and contacted Matson Baptist Church to ask to take over their
designations to which Matson agreed and the 7th Gloucester was re-
On the 5th October 2009, the first meeting was held with 9 boys & girls attending the Anchor section and 7 boys & girls in the Junior Section. On September 2010 we opened our Company Section with 1 boy and 2 girls.
In the 13 years we have seen our numbers increase with now in 2022 we have 30 Anchors, 17 Juniors , 7 Company and 1 Senior. A number of our original members are now part of the current staff.
